Carnelian Heart from Madagascar
These are beautiful, 2" wide, hand-polished piece of Carnelian from Madagascar. The entire specimen has been shaped and polished into the shape of a heart.
Carnelian, a beautiful orange-red crystal, derives its name from the cornel cherry due to the similarities between their alluring red shades. A form of chalcedony (a silica crystal composed of quartz), carnelian differs from this mineral because of its famed reddish tints, the result of iron oxide impurities within the chalcedony structure.
Measurements: 2.5" x 2" x 1".
Please note that due to natural variations in the mineral, the heart you receive may vary slightly from the heart shown.
