Pi Theorem Pint Glass
Is it possible to construct a square with the same area as a given circle, using only a compass, straightedge, and a finite number of steps?
Squaring the circle, as the theory is known, gave ancient mathematicians some trouble. Polish mathematician Adam Kochanski made an attempt, which appears as a beautiful etching on this sturdy pint glass. Several digits of pi are etched on the opposite side.
