Order Processing

Our team processes orders Monday–Friday, and most orders ship within 2 business days. Please allow up to 24 hours for tracking updates to appear. If you have questions or concerns about your order, please call 415.528.4393 (web store), 415.528.4390 (main store), or email shipping@exploratorium.edu

Can't find what you're looking for on our web store? Feel free to give us a call to place a phone order!

As part of our efforts towards sustainability and in order to ensure that more of your purchase goes toward our educational programs, we will sometimes ship your order in a re-purposed box. Thank you for helping us reduce our use of first use cardboard.

Domestic Orders

All online orders can be shipped either UPS or USPS, depending on your preference. We will email you a tracking number once your order has shipped. Please note that UPS will not ship to PO boxes or APO addresses. If you want to ship to a PO box or an APO address, contact us at 415.528.4393 or shipping@exploratorium.edu.

International Orders

Orders shipped internationally are sent through USPS and handed over to local postal services once the order arrives in the country of destination. Orders shipped outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and fees by the destination country. The recipient of the package is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country and must pay any taxes, customs duties, and fees levied on the order.

Unfortunately, we have no control over these fees and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary from country to country; contact your local customs office for more information.
