Petrified wood is a fossil that forms when plant material is buried by sediment and protected from decay. Groundwater rich in dissolved solids flows through the sediment, replacing the original plant material with silica, calcite, pyrite, or another inorganic material.
This petrified wood comes from a tree branch and is polished on both sides, leaving a natural, rough edge around the circumference. Please note that each piece is unique and the item you receive may not exactly match the pictured product in size, shape, or color.
