Product Description

Ammonites are an extinct cephalopod from the Cretaceous period known for their striking coiled shells and well-preserved fossil record. These carnivorous mollusks are the ancestors of modern day squids, octopus, and nautilus. 

This ammonite fossil displays intricate patterned details on the surface called Sutures, which mark where the walls of the internal chambers meet the outer wall of the shell.
